Instructions
In the slow cooker, add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Stir to combine.
Add the chicken pieces on top of the onion mixture.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the crushed tomatoes, coconut milk, butter, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, paprika, chili powder, and salt until smooth.
Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker, ensuring the chicken is well coated.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
Once the cooking time is done, gently stir the chicken and sauce together. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Serve the butter chicken over a bed of basmati rice or with warm naan bread.
Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro before serving.
