In a shallow bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
In another bowl, beat the eggs thoroughly.
Dip each chicken breast first into the egg, allowing excess to drip off, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. If desired, lightly spray them with olive oil for extra crispiness.
Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C) and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and carefully pour marinara sauce evenly over each chicken breast.
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the marinara sauce on each chicken breast.
Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
Notes
For extra crispiness, spray the chicken with olive oil before baking.
