Ingredients
2
cups
peeled and sliced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
1
cup
caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1
box
yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
1/2
cup
unsalted butter, melted
1
teaspoon

1/2
cup
chopped pecans (optional)
1

whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a 9x13-inch baking dish, spread the sliced apples evenly across the bottom.
Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apples, ensuring they are well-coated.
In a separate bowl, mix the yellow cake mix with cinnamon and brown sugar.
Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix mixture over the caramel-coated apples.
Pour the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix layer.
If using, sprinkle chopped pecans on top of the butter-covered cake mix.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling with caramel.
Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Serve warm, topped with a generous scoop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
