Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and green bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.
Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the ground chicken to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika over the cooked chicken. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly with the spices.
Pour in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir everything together until combined.
Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
While the mixture simmers, lightly toast the hamburger buns on a separate skillet or in a toaster.
Once the filling is ready, spoon a generous amount onto the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with the other half of the bun.
Notes
Serve on a wooden platter, garnished with chopped parsley. Pair with sweet potato fries or a salad.
